How much notice does a landlord have to give for unpaid rent in Colorado?

Short answer

Unpaid rent: a written 10-day demand to pay or leave before an eviction can be filed

Notice: At least 10 days after a written demand for the rent or possession is served

For unpaid residential rent, the landlord must serve a written notice giving the tenant ten days to pay the rent or give up possession before the tenant is in unlawful detention. Nonresidential and employer-provided housing agreements keep shorter periods.

"TEN days' notice in writing has been duly served upon the tenant or lessee holding over, requiring in the alternative the payment of the rent or the possession of the premises"
